I am experiencing issues with swim workouts crashing my Garmin 935.
I moved from final surge to intervals as I believe it to be a better platform. I have had no issues with run or bike workouts crashing but when I swim I get either the workout failing to go to the next part after pressing lap or the device freezing.
Today I got the 300m warmup done, pressed lap and the watch failed to progress.
I stopped the workout and saved, which it did, but in the past it has failed to save going to the Garmin logo.
I have had a replacement from Garmin last month as I thought it was the watch but it’s doing it again.
I never had this issue with final surge I’m just wondering if there is something to do with the way swim workouts are loaded to the watch?
Thanks
Sorry for the long post
So I have been having a play. It seems the issue is the swim workouts uploaded from here. Final Surge works fine, Garmin connect works fine.
What could be the problem.
In the mean time I guess I will have to upload all swim workouts from Final surge.
I was using a 935 till last December with swim workouts from intervals without any issue at all.
Now I have a 255 and things are a bit different. I got the impression that Garmin has changed something in the way they deal w/ workouts (dunno if into 255 or into GC). Now the response to lap pressing is different and I sometime get confused and I mess up the workout.
As said I think is something on Garmin side, not intervals
The strange thing is that it works with final surge.
Just analysing the fit files from intervals and FS
I can’t see any real difference. Is there any other reason why swim workouts are doing this?
If you can mail me (david@intervals.icu) the workout fit files from FS and Intervals.icu I can have a look.
Thanks David, I’ve dropped you an email with the two fit files
