Suunto import, cycling Power data misread, shown as 0W flat line

Hi,

Whenever a cycling activity is synced from the Suunto App to my account, I can see the other metrics displayed correctly, but the Power curve shows a 0 W flatline.

The original fit file downloaded from the interface correctly contains data in the power column :

The same activity synced from the Suunto app to Strava correctly displays the power data :

I suspect there is an issue somewhere in the integration of the Suunto fit file to the Intervals app.

User setup :

  • Suunto Vertical
  • 4iii 3+ Power meter
  • Suunto app connection enabled in Intervals.icu settings

Steps to reproduce :

  • Record activity with Suunto app
  • Activity is correctly synced in Intervals (Expected)
  • Original fit file available in Intervals contains data in Power column (Expected)
  • Power data doesn’t display correctly in the activity. Observed behavior : power curve is shown as a 0 W flatline. Expected behavior : power curve should show the power data available in the fit file power column.

Did you configure FTP and power zones on settings page?

Do you mean in the activity Power tab ? I entered an estimated FTP, which I believe was used to deduct zones :

Everything is shown in Z1, even in other activities where the data actually goes over 165W.

I found the settings screen you were probably referring to, the zones seem to be configured :

How comes your cadence is zero?
I’m pretty sure Intervals uses cadence in its algorithm to detect false power values.
AFAIK, every power meter also sends cadence.
And you have a second power stream from an IQ field which is zero (probably because cadence is zero).
Check the Actions-Settings menu to see you can select the other Power stream.
You for sure have some strange configuration that is misleading Intervals.
