Google FIT APIs are going away in June 2025.
“The Google Fit APIs, including the Google Fit REST API, will no longer be available after June 30, 2025. As of May 1, 2024, developers cannot sign up to use these APIs.”
Instead, developers are encourages to consider supporting Health Connect on Android.
. David can’t support this change as it would need a dedicated app ON PHone that is similar to HealthFit /RunGap on iOS which can talk directly to health Connect.
Ah, so it is similar to Apple Health in the sense that it requires an App on the device to use the API. In that case, it would be better (at least on Android) for something like Health Sync to support Intervals.icu.
Health Sync can sync activity and wellness data to Google Drive - could Intervals connect to that data source similar to how it does with Dropbox? This would fill the gap when the Google Fit api gets shutdown.
I have contacted the developers of Health Sync. Hopefully they are keen to add Intervals.icu integration.
Good news. They got back to me already and are going to add Intervals.icu support to Health Sync. No timeframes yet.
Hopefully we will be able to export interval sessions too
FitnessSyncer supports Google Health Connect and Intervals.icu. I am keen to hear how well this works.
