Not sure if this is actually a feature request. I rarely log my commutes. If I do, I often forget to turn off Strava, or I don’t mark the ride as commute and private. The alternative is to do a manual recording, which is also quite cumbersome. So I was thinking to use the Strava API for this. A simple shell script that could easily submit N consecutive manual recordings just the way I like it. Has anyone done this? Would this be a desirable feature of intervals.icu? I am not sure whether this is a valuable addition, but for me it would mean a more accurate assessment of my fitness level.
Great, I’ll give this a try! I recently bought a Garmin watch which may make it easier not to forget to turn off recording. The advantage is that I’ll get real times and distances, unlike with manual recordings.
I tried this for a while but didn’t have a good success rate with it marking my rides as commutes. I now do it manually which while slow, ensures it correct each time.
I have yet to try it. I often make small detours, for example because of roadworks, so I wonder if those rides would be recognized. With a sportswatch it gets easier, but let’s see how long I have the discipline to do this twice a day. I still need to mark the rides as private.
I would ask Olga about the detours. There probably is some margin when riding a preset commute, since there are probably also alternatives like right-left turn instead of straight-right turn, to get to the same point.
