Steps chart in fitness tab wrong units

Hi,

I created a steps chart in the fitness section as part of tracking general health. However the chart is inverted and the units on the x-axis appear to be time rather than number of steps.

Please explain some more about what you want to do, I don’t really understand. Perhaps a screenshot of what you have now and describe what you expect?

This is my Steps chart in the Fitness section:

Hi, thanks for the reply!

So in your chart it looks correct. But in my chart it looks like this:

Ideally I want to do a line chart with a 42 day moving average for steps. But it give me the same time based x-axis for moving average, as-is, line, bar, dots, etc.

If I mouse over it I get the correct value shown up at the top, so I don’t think it’s a data issue.

Works fine for me with the following settings

But for some reason, you seem to have the Y-axis formatted as Time…
The x-axis in Fitness charts is always the date.
Check what’s in the Three dot menu

If that is correct, I guess you have a user configured Steps field which is incorrectly configured.
The built-in Steps field should be correct.

Sorry, I kept saying x-axis but I meant y-axis. As you said, the y-axis is showing as time and I can’t work out why. I’m using default steps. It says ‘steps’ in the 3 dot config bit and the steps show up in activities correctly and they show up correctly when I mouse over the chart. I haven’t created any unique metrics, I’m just using the default steps one.

Also, it’s not just doing something like converting steps to seconds because the smaller times on the chart correspond to larger numbers of steps.

The only thing I can think of is that I imported steps from Apple health via HealthFit.

I think if you create a brand new chart it will work. Some settings are copied in when you select a plot so likely you were previously plotting something with time and this is now breaking steps:

Thanks, deleting and recreating the chart solved it!
