Garmin models that I know only provide a respiration stream during an activity, not during snapshots or overnight.
On Android, you can set FitBit to write just about all of its data to Health Connect which as its own API.
Hey, thank you for integrating steps into intervalls!
Is the connection with health fit already possible ?
HealthFit has written in the last update, that they support intervalls steps.
But they wonât show up here and I see no option to turn it on, in the connection.
Would be great to have it!
Best Regards.
Awesome, I just ordered a garmin watch to auto log steps and my daily activity level.
That would be controlled from within the HealtFit app, not in Intervals.icu.
I did reach out and the problem is an old iOS version that I canât update. So if this happens for others, it is maybe because your iPhone is too old.
I would also appreciate getting the respiration data from Garmin. Averaging all the rates for the night seems appropriate.
This steps tracking is great, gives a nice insight in consistency for daily overall activity. Plotting this versus HRV and resting HR shows some interesting trends. I was wondering if there can be an option to have this reflected into the fitness curve (like an optional steps to load setting or so). I combine it with running for recovery days, but I donât want to track each walk activity separately.
Do you mean that you would like to see an automatically created Activity Load, based on steps during the day?
If so, thereâs a number of things to be careful with:
- steps during an activity should be excluded or they would count double
- simply accumulating steps during the day without much stress and purposeful walks at brisk speed represent a totally different load. One does not raise HR, while the other will.
Tracking walks is fast and simple if you have a sports-watch or fitness wearable.
Thanks for this David. And thanks for your amazing hard work as always!
Is there any possibility of Intensity Minutes from Garmin or the equivalent from other watches?
Garminâs vivoactive 5 has a Health Snapshot function that records respiration as well as Pulse Ox, Stress and HRV. These sync with Connect, Intervals and TP but these latter apps omit respiration for some reason.
