[SOLVED] Power is recognized, but now PM and PM Serial are blank (repair)

I’d categorize this as a bug since I have other power meters being recognized. I typically record rides on a Garmin 830.

Long story short, I have a bike with an AXS power meter. When I ride that bike the power numbers are displayed in the activity, but intervals.icu doesn’t recgonize the PM or PM Serial and they are blank on the activities list view columns. This is a problem because I would like to use that PM as gear in doing filters for things, and as-is I think these rides will get confused with bikes that don’t have power.

I suspect this could be related to the AXS power meter doing something in a non-standard way (thus intervals.icu can’t correctly associate it); I suppose it’s also possible that I did something wrong when I connected it to the Garmin the first time.

Thanks for your time.

I actually just realized that I’ve got a mountain bike that has stopped being recognized as well, but the problem seems intermittent. I know the MTB has been recognized in the past.

you need to look at the raw Fit File in fitfileviewer.com and see the connected devices and see if they are being written to the fit file

I see that there is a power meter, but the information is blank…

Perhaps I should try re-pairing to the Garmin since the problem is that the metadata doesn’t exist to begin with? I’ll give it a try tomorrow and see what happens.

Note: You do not actually have to do an Actual Ride to test this out. I do a lot of testing just on my desk and doing some “simulation” of sorts. Faster to figure out what’s happening

I re-paired the sensor and it seems to have worked… I’m curious how it happened to begin with…

Regardless, thanks for your help!

Great!
Normally, the head Unit will query the sensor for all these info (or its part of the data it broadcast and it’s just logged)

so… either the sensor isn’t broadcasting it or it wasn’t requested by the headunit. Anyways, great that it’s solved.
