[SOLVED] Missing rides after updating Gear and removing Strava connection

I have been trying to sort out my gear on intervals with the intention of leaving Strava. I have previously used ProBikeGarage to track my bike maintenance, and realised I can do a similar thing on here.

I have disconnected my Strava connection, which appears to have lost most of my Zwift rides - no bother, I’ve uploaded those separately. However, I still have around 70hours of riding unaccounted for over 3 different bikes (2 bikes but a 3rd setup for virtual rides that is the same as one of the other two). I can’t really work out where it is missing from.

I’m missing about 26 hours of indoor rides, 15 hours of road riding and another 26 hours of gravel rides.

I’m not really sure where to start, apart from comparing all of the activities against what is on Strava row by row. Is this my only option?

When you disconnect strava, IIRC you’re presented w/ a warning.
Anyways, their T&C says, if you disconnect strava, all data from strava needs to be deleted.

If you have another service (like Garmin) connected to Intervals, then all is ok as garmin data is still here. Otherwise, you will see a huge void of data missing. (or in progress of being deleted)

What can you do..

  1. connect your org source data
  2. go to strava and request for all your historical data. Upload it here

you can search the forum for the #2, it’s been discussed at length after Strava made changes to their API requirement.

You even have to type literally “yes” in a text field, that you’d understand the warning.

I had a connection to many of the services as well as Strava - it just seems odd that most of the activities from other services have come through but not all of them.

I did understand the warning. I don’t mind sorting it, it just seems odd that most of my data is there but there are pockets with missing data. I had connections to most of the services as well as Strava.

I wonder if the simplest way of doing it would be to delete everything from intervals and then load everything from Strava in one go?

I’ve requested my archive from Strava. Can I just upload all of this to intervals in one lump or do I need to do it as individual activities?

It depends on what your other integrations are, and if your Strava history is complete. I am not sure if it handles duplicates this way too. But if not, you could also filter your activities by „Source“ in the activity list, and Delete the duplicates.

You can just paste the link Strava emails you into the box in the “Import All Strava Data” dialog. Intervals.icu will process the file and create the activities. You will not get duplicates if the file from Strava matches the one from the original source (should be the case).

Thanks for this @david, it worked a treat.

Little bit of work to do to assign the correct gear after dropping Strava, but all sorted and makes sense now. Looking forward to a kudos free life
