Long story short - Haven’t been training for a long time (on and of 18 months)
In first block back. Getting eFTP notifications now too.
First off, I know these are only estimates. I know the numbers given are not reflective of actual FTP. I know that the model can only estimate based on the data it’s given. And I know I haven’t fed it a full range of data. Nor will I be doing anytime soon.
All that said, there is a definite bug in the estimations as I see it.
Tuesday April 21st I did a 20/15/10 session and was given an estimated FTP of 235w. This was based off “FTP +29 to 235w from 25m at 242w”
So it has established now that I can at least do 25 minutes at 242 watts.
Roll on to Saturday April 25th where I did a different session. 20min tempo blocks.
After this I got “FTP +5 to 216w from 20m at 228w”
So on the Tuesday I was given an eFTP of 242w but on the following Saturday I was told my FTP was increasing +5 to 216w. Clearly something not quite right with the matrix there!
I don’t pay any heed to these estimations. Like I said already, garbage in, garbage out. But this is clearly a bug which I thought I’d report in case anyone does use this feature and want more accurate results.
