Skipped workouts are still counted?

Hello!

I use intervals.icu together with the TrainerRoad calendar, and I first wanted to say its a great tool! However this past Sunday I had a planned workout in my TrainerRoad calendar which I ended up skipping. However this workout, that I did not complete, is still being counted in my fatigue and fitness numbers.

I’ve included the following two screenshots, the first one is where I leave the skipped workout in the intervals.icu calendar and the other is where I delete the planned activity from the calendar. You can clearly see that both the graphs and the numbers on top are different.

On the TrainerRoad calendar is clearly marked as skipped. Am I missing something here? Should I delete planned workouts that I did not complete in order to get correct statistics on intervals.icu? The strange thing is when looking at the bottom of the graph its not showing up as an “activity” in either case.

Thanks for the help!

The skipped workout should disappear from your fitness etc as soon as it is in the past. It will also disappear from the calendar unless you have “show past planned workouts” on. I had a look at your data now and it seems to have gone and is not contributing to fitness etc…

Hello David,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately while you were looking I had probably deleted the workouts manually for a bit as I was playing with the tool. I’ve resynced the TrainerRoad calendar and the past planned workout(s) are back. Both on Sunday 10 May and Saturday 02 May I had a planned TrainerRoad workout that I skipped that does not dissappear on the calendar intervals.icu and have an impact on my stats. I’ve included a screenshot to show that I don’t have the “show past planned workouts” option enabled. The other screenshot is how they show in my TrainerRoad calendar (as “skipped”).

Thanks for looking into it!

Hmm. I don’t know why they are showing up even though you don’t have “show past planned workouts” ticked. Thats a bug alright. But they aren’t being added to your stats (not on the calendar anyway). The total load for the week of the 4th of May is 349 = 37+34+64+214 which doesn’t include the 111 skipped on the Sunday. Same for the week of the 27th April.

Intervals.icu doesn’t know about skipped workouts. It doesn’t count stats for planned workouts in the past skipped or otherwise.

Hey David,

Thanks for confirming its a bug. You’re right that it doesn’t seem to impact the calendar totals. I hadn’t noticed that, I was focused on the fitness graph where I can see a clear impact. Another side-by-side screenshot, what stands out to me is the form of the fatigue graph and the ramp rate number which are clearly different.

Kind regards
Max

Ok. I have reproduced this on my laptop so I should be able to sort it out. The fitness and fatigue numbers for the 12th (today) are correct when the skipped workout on the 10th is present or not. The numbers from the 13th onwards are inflated if the workout on the 10th is present. It shouldn’t count because it is in the past.

Tx for taking the time to send me all the screenshots and info.

This is fixed now. The “future fitness” algorithm was erroneously including planned workouts after your most recently completed activity that are currently in the past i.e. were not completed. So as soon as you had done another ride that skipped workout would have disappeared from fitness.
