I was convinced that the Saris M2 smart trainer would be perfect for my needs, until it dug deeper. Here’s the smoking gun that killed my intent to buy one. It’s from an online chat with a Sari tech:
The Saris utility app is the only way to calibrate and this app is only available currently for IOS devices. I do apologize for the inconvenience at this time. Our engineers are working currently on a work around for this. I do not have an ETA at this time. But be assured it is being handled by our team actively.
I am a devoted Google/Android user and have no intent to spend $1,000 for an iPhone to enable a $200 trainer.
Has anyone found a way to calibrate resistance on the M2 using an Android device?
What’s the nearest trainer to the M2 with an app available for Android? (Most companies understand that 70% of all smart phones used today use the Android OS.)
