Running Pace Settings (Threshold Pace)

Hello,
just a simple question
in the “Running Pace Settings” my “Threshold Pace” (to set) is the pace i can hold for 30 minutes - respectively the 20 miniutes Test by Joe Friedl +5%? Am i right?
Thanks.

I usually think of threshold pace as what I can hold for an hour. So a bit like FTP but for running.

I also thought my running threshold is that what i can hold for an hour, but in the settings there stands: “… might be the fastest you have been able to run for 30 minutes”.
So I’m not really sure, just want to get the correct setting and so the zone-calculations right.

Ah I hadn’t actually read the instructions. However assuming David is using the normal load formula then running at threshold pace (gradient adjusted) for one hour would give a score of 100 which infers your best one hour pace should be used. This then aligns with the cycling Power based load scoring method.

By the way for cycling at least there is a lot of research to say 95% of best 20min power over estimated your FTP. Unfortunately the only real way to get your FTP (or 60 min pace for running) is to go all out for one hour :grimacing::nauseated_face:
