I know you can use a note, this is what I do now. Its just not the most efficient or logical way of doing it. And you can’t use it in any reporting. My feature request is a suggested improvement.
At the moment I put rest days in as an ‘Other’ activity (would love ‘Rest and Recovery’ added to the activity list), but from a coaching perspective it would be good if it could be raised above the threshold of just a note. Philosophically I tell my athletes a rest day IS doing something and ask them ‘what are you doing to promote rest and recovery?’.
Came here to add this exact feature request… clicked to post and it didn’t let me as it recognised someone had asked for the same thing
…
It would be great if ‘rest day’ was an option on this dialogue. I know you can add it as a note, copy and paste etc, but this would be a small quality of life improvement.
I use the library to drag/drop both planned and unplanned rest days to the calendar. Library, type in “rest” select either planned or unplanned. Drag to calendar.
The notes or adding it from the library doesn’t work for being able to report on the rest days. How many unplanned rest days did the athlete take over the season, how many planned rest days did we have. What was the average in the period. Having this is a comparable metric would be useful. Notes and from the library.
I really miss being able to see visible notes, comments, or session descriptions directly from the calendar view. For me, it’s important to quickly understand why there was no session on rest days, just at a glance. I usually avoid sharing screenshots from third-party platforms, but below is an example showing how rest day notes are displayed in the calendar:
As you can see, the “OFF” days include comments about why I didn’t train on those dates. Fortunately, you won’t be able to understand what’s written — it was a disastrous training period!
