First of all, thank you to all the admins for dealing with the recent bot attack and cleaning up the forum. I can only imagine how much work that created.
If I may suggest one possible measure, it seemed that most of the spam was coming from accounts that were only a few minutes old. Until stricter anti bot measures are in place during account creation, perhaps it would be worth considering holding posts from new accounts for the first 24 hours.
I also have a small request. I had a topic related to an app I am developing, where Intervals.icu users could ask questions, share feedback, and request features. The topic had been active for the past few months, but I believe it may have been accidentally removed yesterday.
I’ve checked the logs between 22:00 and 00:00 (UTC) when I was active and there are only a few posts showing. I’ve checked to see if these are currently active, and they are.

Lets see. Any other settings you would like to add/change? If we set new topics from new users under review, it would yes clean up the forums but would still need work from admins.
Yes, but I think moderators are already busy deleting posts and users, they can review the queue once in a while (now they have to check spam posts every 10 minutes). And this is while admins get to the correct settings.
There are two interesting post to review on Discourse:
The maximum number of topics a user is allowed to create in the 24 hour period after creating their first post from 3 to 0.
Default trust level from 1 to 0
Approve new topics unless allowed groups Is now admins, moderators and trust level 1, 2, 3 and 4.
I will be monitoring the forums closely now and will be changing settings if needed. We don’t want to block real users making legit questions and we don’t want any extra work for admins.
So spam posts are coming in again, but are pending in the queue. So these settings seem to work. You could also add watched words to silent/reject those posts. The spam introduces telephone numbers so any thing with
There also should be options to read a certain amount of topics or a certain amount of time (per thread?) to gain TL1. You could expect that from any new user before posting.
