Problem with powermeter

Hello everyone,

Sorry for my English, I don’t speak English very well.

I use intervals.icu and I’m super happy with it. Wonderful tool. Nevertheless, I bought a Canyon Speedmax with a crank power meter. 4iiii brand.
Unable to properly calibrate the power sensor…

My home trainer and my power meter on my road bike (a Rotor in the crankset) give me the same numbers which are usually 15% higher than on my 4iiii.

Either my old sensors have been fooling me for a long time…or my 4iiii is not calibrating correctly :frowning:

Two questions :
1/ Is it possible to correct the power on an activity in intervals.icu? In order to have my good zones and a better overview of the training load.
2/ If someone can help me to correctly calibrate my 4iiii…

Thank you all,

Thank you intervals.icu for the quality of the platform

Actions - Fix data and apply a multiplier and/or offset value.

Do you know if you have a significant leg imbalance (example 45/55)? If the 4iiii sensor is on your least powerful leg, that lower value will be doubled to get full power. This might explain a part of the difference because the Rotor is a double sided measurement. In the example above the power from the 4iiii would be only 90%.

Yep. I didnt think about that possiblity but in fact it can be true. I dont have powermeter like Assiomah duo to try.

If we suppose this case is true : what can i do to correct this data in intervals.icu ?
Yesterday, did 3x10min @220w on my Kickr Core … had 185-187w on 4iiii :frowning:

Ty for help !

Skipped that part?

I have two 4iiii power meters, one can calibrate/zero offset each time and the other is a little more problematic. Follow these instructions to reset the factory settings. If you still don’t come right, you might want to reach out to their customer service team.

I helped two friends who had problems. Here was the first response from 4iiii:

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out. Please try the following troubleshooting to correct the issue:

If applicable, update your cycling computer to the latest firmware.

Connect to the 4iiii app (iOS - 2.4.0; Android - 2.6.0) and ensure you have updated the power meter with the latest firmware (3.2.0). This includes the Chipolo Tracking feature. Ensure that your phone is connected to Wi-Fi.

Perform a Factory Reset via the 4iiii App to restore factory calibration values:

  1. Connect to your powermeter by Adding Device
  2. Advance to the Device Settings Page by tapping the powermeter field/box
  3. Under PRECISION Settings, tap Factory Reset

Open your battery cap and gently nudge the two copper battery contacts with your finger to make sure they are well attached. There should be a little one near the edge and a large rectangular one in the centre.

If it looks like the large rectangular one is flat against the bottom, use a jeweler’s screwdriver or similar tool to very gently lift the ends of the prongs 1mm off the bottom of the pod, so that they press against the battery more firmly. Make sure to hold down the center of the battery tab while lifting the prongs.

Then, place an upside-down (+ terminal down) battery into the pod so that it touches both of the battery contacts for a few seconds before reinstalling the battery in the correct orientation.
This will remove any residual charge.

The powermeter takes a standard CR2032 Lithium-ion coin cell battery. Make sure to remove any stickers from the battery itself.

Check the battery cap to ensure the metal clip is present:

Check locking tabs on the body are undamaged:

Connect to your cycling computer:

  • Ensure power meter is awake (spin 4 times)
  • Make sure you are paired to Left ANT+ ID (see picture)
  • Remove other ANT+ sensors from the cycling computer

Can you also please send a screenshot of our powermeters Device Info? This is accessed through the 4iiii App Device Settings after you have connected the powermeter to the app.
