I’ve seen some similar discussions/requests for the ability to see planned load from past/completed training. Is there anything available in the calendar or in the charts to be able to see what load was planned vs what was completed? Particularly helpful would be the ability to see this on the calendar. Thanks in advance!
That would be Target and not Planned Load - I ran into this while trying to chart planned vs actual mileage:
One difference is that, as far as I can tell, you can only set targets for a full week while you can have a daily planned load (via planned workouts).
This approach also requires you set the your weekly targets instead of automatically calculating it from your planned workouts; That’s what you’re doing here, right?
I’m using the target load as the weekly planned total, and comparing my training in weekly buckets within each mesocycle (2+1 week cycle).
The majority of my rides/workouts aren’t the same as the daily planned load due to the but within a few %. A missed session, remains a missed session.
Thank you both for the information and work. I had an issue with my “planned” load being flatline until I found the ability to input the “target” load. Do I have to manually input target load each week? Or is there a way to auto populate the planned/target load within the chart? As in, with pre-built workouts, can it sum the planned load and populate that in the weekly load estimate or in the charts? The calendar view shows nicely the planned load each week until a workout is completed for that week, and then you can no longer see what the planned load was. I’d like to be able to easily compare/see the two of them side by side. As always, much appreciated!
It’s a manual process to update the weekly target quantities.
For me, it’s a once off capture of the weekly targets when I do my annual season planning. As each block (mesocycle) is completed, and I need to review the next one, I might make changes to the planned values. An example might be that illness/work prevented me (or an athlete) from completing a block of base. Extending base by 3-4 weeks might be required.
Anyone involved in a budget process in business would usually have an annual budget that doesn’t change. The reviews/adjustments made are usually per quarter or monthly (depending on how business reporting works) and labelled adjusted budget.
