If I plan an interval workout by pace, I will probably have some walking (recovery) sections - especially if including sprints.
I’m not sure walking pace aligns with a percentage of threshold pace, but I think 3mph / 20 min/mile (12.5 min/km?) would work for most.
Edited to add: It would make sense to me if 0% running pace equated to walking pace. Kind of like how with Heart Rate Reserve 0% equates to resting (or orthostatic ideally) heart rate.
The min value on the bar chart is now 70% of threshold pace or the 90% of the slowest pace in the workout, whichever is lower.
This is almost done. You can choose to perform a workout by power, HR or pace (or auto which will select based on your workout order for the sport). This is also useful when building workouts for others to see the different version on the chart:
Tx. I have been thinking about how to do that. The problem is that everything about the workout editor (and backing generators for different files and platforms) expects there to be a duration. The other issue is that workouts on pace are portable between athletes whereas distance based ones would have different load for different athletes and so on.
What I could do is add a little calculator in the pace step dialog to compute the duration. So you enter miles and and mins/mile and it fills in the duration and %pace based on the threshold pace of the selected athlete.
Yes I should add pace versions of various power stats. Going to have to work on the UX for the plot selector. It’s hard to find things already.
I am also going to add a pace distance curve (so you can see that you have done 5m/km for 10km or whatever, like the power curve) with analogous best times for various distances. Still figuring out exactly how to do that.
