Four hours is what fits between work, family and everything else. “Ride more” isn’t much help.
So how do you decide what deserves those hours? Keep the long weekend ride? Add intervals? Replace one of the sessions you already do?
The part I find interesting is how much that decision depends on your starting point. What are you training for? What have your last few weeks actually looked like? Which rides leave you struggling, and which are getting easier?
I’m building RideReviewer to help work through questions like this using your own training history. It connects Garmin or Intervals.icu to your own ChatGPT or Claude conversation, where you can also explain your goal and the constraints around it.
For example:
“I have four hours a week: two 45-minute slots on weekdays and 2.5 hours on Sunday. I want to stay with my weekend group. Look at my recent training and help me decide what to keep, replace or shorten. Ask me for any missing context, explain the trade-offs, and suggest how we could check whether the changes are helping.”
That’s the kind of conversation I want the product to support. If it suggests changing a session, you should be able to ask “why this one?” and get an explanation tied to your rides and your goal.
Try it with your own training history
For those here training on limited time: what change made the biggest difference for you? And what did you stop doing to make room for it?
