it would be great if Intervals could offer an official MCP server alongside the API, so users could securely connect their data to ChatGPT and other AI tools for training analysis, progress reviews, and better insights.
The biggest advantage would be simplicity and trust: instead of relying on unofficial community solutions, which require own Servers, complex Setup, … users would have a supported and secure way to access their data with AI.
A few reasons why this could be valuable:
secure and official integration
much easier setup for normal users
read-only access by default for safety
fine-grained permissions/scopes
reliable access to activities, wellness, intervals, trends, and progress data
a great fit as a Premium-only feature
I think this would be a very strong addition and could make Intervals.icu one of the best platforms for AI-assisted training analysis.
would be great, also as it is not only about training analysis of the past but also to get ai-based recommendations and trianing plans (and not need to get access / subsriptions to training platforms that offer these features)
@martin_trialist That’s exactly what I’ve been using it for. I built an extended version (AI tool integration for Claude) that goes beyond reading data — it can actually write to your calendar, bulk-create training plans, manage your workout library and gear.
I’d also really welcome an official MCP for Intervals.icu.
With the growing number of different community MCPs, it’s getting hard to know which one to use. And for many users, setting these up locally or on a server is probably too complex anyway. An official, supported MCP would make this much more accessible and reliable.
I agree. Just wanted to point out there is some alternative. Also noticed that there are now even commercial version out there with training plan creation.
At the end it will be easy to create an official one now, you just need to look at the different ones outthere and see which ones solved most problems and also how they approached it differently.
