New Garmin activity type "XC Ski Indoor" not syncing to Intervals

Garmin has recently introduced a brew activity type called “XC Ski Indoor”. See e.g. this post in the Concept2 forum https://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&p=607456#p607443

I record my SkiErg sessions with my watch (Garmin Epix pro) via the app “AK Concept2 Rowing/SkiErg”. Previously they were labeled “Nordic Skier” in Garmin Connect, but now auto-labels to the new “XC Ski Indoor”. Last session with old label was July 2nd for me, and first with the new label July 17th.

These activities looks fine when manually downloaded from Garmin Connect and then uploaded to Intervals. But now labeled “Virtual Ski” in Intervals, previously “Nordic Skier”.

Same here. No import to Itervals.icu after 2x SkiErg with the “AK Concept2” app. The workouts are in Garmin, but don’t get imported. Runs etc still work, so it seems to be the new Garmin Virtual Ski type.

just change the Type of activity , or in Settings in “Alpine Ski” , add Virtual Ski too

The issue is not that they are labeled Virtual Ski (instead of Nordic Skier). That’s fine. The issue is that these activities are not synced at all. I now need to manually upload them to get them in Intervals.

I should add that Training Peaks doesn’t sync these activities either. So I assumed something needs to be added to which activities Intervals fetch when syncing (but I don’t really know).
