If you have .fit files for any of the following please mail them to me:
- Left/Right power
- Running power
- Virtual ride
- Any created by a non-Garmin device
Thanks. I need to see what these look like.

I have some files with Garmin Running power, I will send one through by email. They also include the additional running dynamics fields (vertical ratio, vertical oscillation, ground contact time & ground contact time balance).
Also in the fit file, you will find the Garmin “recovery_HR” metric which is heart rate 2mins after the athlete stops their activity - see below screen shot from www.fitfileviewer.com. (To get drop in HR over those 2mins need to take the HR data from the final data point of the recording.) This could also be an interesting metric to include / track long term in the Fitness page.
Dropped a couple of files to you via email. Thought I should have looked at how long ago this was posted. I’m sure you’ve received many in the last 12 hours.
Sending you one now from a Lezyne Enhanced Super GPS. Failed to upload with the message that sport type was missing. Forum DM won’t accept .fit, how should I send it?
I just sent a couple to you via email.
I’ve a lot of virtual fit files with l/r power, and outdoor wahoo fit files with l/r power from different pms if you still need them.
Please email to david@intervals.icu … tx.
I fixed this issue yesterday. Tx.
Tx everyone for sending in files. The working list of test cases now has (for deployment Tues am):
CorosRunWithPower.fit
CorosVirtualRide.fit
CorosVirtualRunWithPower.fit
GarminEdge130PowerTap.fit
GarminEdge530AssiomaDuo.fit
GarminFenixStrydRunPower.fit
GarminRunningPower.fit
TrainerRoadExport.fit
WahooBoltLeftRightPower.fit
WahooRivalIndoorBike.fit
WahooRivalYoga.fit
WahooRoamIndoorBike.fit
WahooRoamOutdoorBike.fit
ZwiftRide.fit
The fit file standard is very loose. All sorts of weirdness in different files.
Note that I still need to do quite a bit of work before running power will show up in Intervals.icu properly. I need to make sure it doesn’t get mixed up with cycling power etc…
I think that Stryd Powercenter exports fit in a slightly different way than Garmin if you want to check it, I can send it. Also Garmin triathlon fit files are tricky I think.
David,
Do you need anymore FIT files? If so I have files created with Garmin Edge 530 & Fenix 3 for cycling & running. Cycling has power data from Assioma Favero & running from a Stryd foot pod. Also hace some swimming FIT files.
Have a great Xmas
The swimming ones would be good to have. Tx.
Hi David
Do you need any Polar .fit files sending over?
Yes please. Haven’t seen any of those yet. Tx.
I have a Polar Grit x which I use mainly for running, but can only get a tcx file out - what Polar device is yours, or am I missing some way to get a fit file from mine? At least the tcx file is plain xml so easy enough to parse.
I have a Polar Vantage M but there is every chance you’re right and they’re tcx. Having a look later. Can’t remember the last time I downloader one if I’m honest.
John is right. Been in and can’t get .fit files Sorry David
Parsing different types of files (other than .fit) is on the todo list.
Hi David! Did you implement Garmin’s metrics in the website? I couldn’t find it! Thank you
No not yet. Its a bit complicated because Stryd also have those. I need to figure out how to handle different types of running power (Stryd, Garmin, Apple etc.).
