Need athletes (25+) for my PhD research! Help a fellow cyclist out!

Hello fellow cyclists and athletes!

I am looking for a bunch more athletes (25 and older) to help with my PhD dissertation research. It’s a quick ~15min. survey (a bit repetitive at times but this is purposeful). Check out the link below to help me out!

What does being an athlete mean to you?

I want to hear from adults across the lifespan about their athletic identity.

I am looking for people who:

  • Are 25+ years old (no upper limit!)
  • Identify as an athlete
  • Currently train/practice for a sport
  • Competed in the past year OR plan to compete next year

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Take the 15-20 min. survey here:

Contact: Derrik Motz, PhDc (derrik.motz@uottawa.ca).

Done - as a fellow PhD candidate (in a very different field) good luck with your research!

Submitted. Also a researcher, but like David not in this field. Good luck!

Much appreciated David!

What is your field?

Thanks Brendan!!

What is your field?

Mine is “Cybersecurity applications to LLMs and Agentic AI” It’s the sort of topic that makes people run away at parties :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Back doing a PhD at 60 after completing a Master of Cybersecurity last year - so much to learn! US born but living in Melbourne, Australia now.

Very interesting! I wouldn’t run away at a party from that - sounds like a proper party haha

Can I participate? I’m asking because my training consists of running, cycling, rowing, and SkiErg — 25 to 30 hours — and 25-30 min of weight training; that is, I only cycle 2, sometimes 3 times per week.

As long as you use all that training to compete (at any level)! Even if is a Zwift race or local club race.

Competitions have to be in the last 12 months, or if you are registered to to compete in the next 12 months!
