Hi David: in intervals.icu we can manually alter load, weight, ftp and Wprime. However, what I most commonly want to enter manually is distance. I don’t have a speed sensor on the back wheel of my trainer bike and so I get no ‘credit’ for the distances I’ve ridden. I know for a flat, windless course how my power translates into speed, so I can make a reasonable estimate of distance. But there’s nowhere to put it!
Is is possible to make this datum manually editable?
Thanks - Michael
It is with a little bit of work. At the moment I use the Strava provided field so I need to an an icu fields for this. It’s now on the todo list.
Actually, Strava should add that possibility, but y’all know that won’t be before hell freezes over…
Cyclopaat: yes, they’ve actually stated that they are not going to do it.
Until David solves another one of our first world problems, the hack is to manually enter a ride in Strava with the correct date and distance; set the duration to 1 minute [so that your riding times are not distorted] and then save, so that intervals.icu will pick up this manually-entered ride. Of course, you do get Strava telling you that you’ve set new land speed records!
What is wrong here, is that Strava will not accept distance from a file input that has that data, but no GPS track points to match, as is the case when you’re on your trainer and not (f)actually moving.
The resulting TCX file, for instance when using the Tacx smartphone app to control your trainer and record a power or slope workout, is interpreted fine by Garmin, but by Strava not so much…
Note that a virtual ride is fine, even when riding a fictitious course like Watopia.
