Manually adding planned workouts

Hi, I may be missing how to do this but is there a way to manually add planned workouts into the calendar other than importing from another calendar (TP etc)?

If I add something in the future it just adds it as a completed session, but would be handy if we could add workouts and activities as “Planned run/ride” etc which then work in the same way as imported planned activities, and show compliance levels once the sessions are actually completed. i.e. build the workout plan into the calendar directly here

Just point at the date you want to add something, and voila!
Or, press the + in the top of the calendar.
Right now it is a little rudimentary, but it works, and lo and behold, if not the sole programmer on this site will get his and on this too …

As @Kim_Bonde said + You need to the change the “Category” to “Workout” or “Race” and give it training load and/or duration. Then it should show up nicely and appear on the /fitness chart etc.

Got it, thank you both. I had tried it just now but it didn’t initially appear how I was expecting, but looking again it is facepalm

So once the workout is completed and synced this will just appear as one item in the calendar/fitness chart with a compliance indicator?

Yes thats correct. Also if you had a planned workout on a day and didn’t do any matching activities, the workout is shown.

Is there a future plan to change this behaviour? Example: you create a planned workout with a “Plan” tag and if matched real workout is found than it merges. If workout is not found then it deletes the planned workout for that day.

Asking this because if you have planned WO and didn’t performed it that day it will mess you fitness levels.

As soon as the planned workout is “today” or in the past then it no longer impacts fitness.

While I’m not worried about missing planned workouts messing with fitness, since @david has verified that they don’t, some kind of compliance measure would be cool. Kind of like how it works on Training Peaks. If you have a planned workout for the day, it will match it up with the workout completed and show your compliance to that workout ( +/- time, intensity, distance, etc., with each metric being optional in the planned workout). You then can have your weekly compliance calculated. The ability to unpair a completed workout from a planned workout is useful too, in the event you do multiple workouts that day (like a warmup and a race recorded separately), so you can manually pair the correct one.

You can turn on compliance in Intervals.icu. Click “Options” on the calendar page. It works a little differently though. It totals the planned training load for the day per sport and compares that to the total for the activities for that sport for the day. That way I don’t need to try match the plan to specific activities and it handles people who log warmup/cooldown separately.

The % for the day is shown next to each activity which isn’t quite right. I am going to change that soon.
