Manually add power data to workout?

hi,

first of all, thanks @david for creating this awesome website! soo glad to have found it. I just got a Wahoo Bolt a couple of weeks ago and started training. I have only the HRM and Cadence/Speed sensors but unfortunately no power meter.

I realized that at the Gym I am going to, there are Cycling Ergometers on which you can manually set the effort level in watts (but no way to connect to Wahoo or Phone). Is it possible to enter the power manually afterwards to my recorded effort in intervals.icu (which only has HR for these indoor workouts)?

This would be so great! I think this would add the possibility to get first experience with Power vs. Heart Rate for very cheap / free.

If it is not possible, are there any workarounds to add power data to .fit files or similar?

with best regards from germany,
John

From my experience (comparing those bikes to my wahoo kickr at home or the various power meters across my bikes) those gym bikes are way off and you’re better off just rolling dice to determine what power you were putting down in the gym

hm okay. that is unfortunate. But it would be nice to be able to experiment with it. I don’t have the ability to buy a kickr or powermeter for my bike at the moment.
To be able to do a ftp test, or Z2 rides now, and then compare Power vs Heart Rate in a couple of months on the same gym bike, while not perfect, would be nice

Open the activity on Intervals, then Action> Edit data
You’ll be able to add in power there

Or this might work, though I have never tried it

Combine FIT, GPX, CSV or TCX files for Garmin or Strava. Merge Heart Rate Power and GPS (gotoes.org)

Do use the same bike though. Even the same brand and model can be way off

thanks, I found Action → Edit data in the mean time as well. Unfortunately not practical. Editing power data for every second of the ride. Would need some kind of bulk editing. Perhaps same as the intervall creation window (e.g. 5min 200w etc…)

Will try the tool you linked and will report back!

yeah, I could use the same bike no problem! (second from the left ;-))
