Load from 'Other' activities not added to totals

Hi David,
I’m new to Intervals.icu so I hope you don’t mind me asking these questions and pointing things out.

I’ve just noticed that the load from events classed as ‘Other’ (i.e. not swimming, biking, running or strength) don’t get reported in the totals on the main ‘Activities’ calendar. As a quadrathlete I also do a fair bit of kayaking. I don’t necessarily expect kayaking to be listed as a separate sport as I realise that I may be a niche case, but maybe ‘Other’ activities should be grouped into a category and displayed here for completeness.

For example, in the week below, The weekly summary data in the left hand column shows the totals of my cycling, running, swimming and strength training activities, but the three kayaking sessions that I did (1 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday) aren’t shown. They also aren’t added onto the total load which shows 535 for the week. With the kayaking sessions added on it should be 626.

I have missed a setting somewhere or is this a bug / overlooked issues?
Similarly, the percentage of time in zones doesn’t seem to take into consideration data from activities classed as ‘Other’ either.

With this in mind, do the fitness charts take into the load from these ‘Other’ sessions or is the load data from them missing on those charts in the same way as it is for the weekly summaries?

Thanks,
Alan.

Questions are good, they improve the software! You must have been one of the first people on Strava with that ID!

I will add an “Other” grouping for kayaking and anything else with HR (hence training load), then the time in zones etc will update properly. Any activity with training load contributes to the fitness chart, so other is included there.

I see you are importing a TP calendar. I will also see if I can parse any more info from those.

Thanks David,
That should do the trick… I can see why you wouldn’t want every sport listed individually as that could get quite cumbersome so a grouping for ‘other’ should be fine.

Yep, I guess i have been using Strava for a while now… Started in 2009 I think. All I can say is that KOM’s were a lot easier to come by when I was 10 years younger and there was no one else competing for them!!

I have added a bunch more icons for sports and some more categories. Every sport now has a category so training load should always reflect somewhere on the weekly summary.

Nice, I now have kayaking, windsurfing and surfing icons on my calendar (along with the others).
