How does this news affect Intervals.icu??
I didn’t know anything about that until your post. I certainly didn’t get any notice. That said Strava certainly do need to make money. I am happy to pay for the service myself. There was a time when I could realistically get into the top 10 for some of the climbs around here but not any more 
So not too fussed about segments.
Intervals.icu only displays segment names matched to intervals under the ride timeline chart. And that has been working only some of the time for a while because Strava sends me notification of new activities before the segments have been calculated. So now that will only work for Strava subscribers. If you have an activity you want to see segment names for intervals for click “sync with Strava” and they should show up.
The API changes shouldn’t cause any other trouble.
