I may be missing this but capturing weather for completed activities would be good. Intervals is so rich in features I may have overlooked how to do this. Amazing resource. Thanks.
Tx. I have been thinking of ways to do that … hopefully can make a plan!
Was thinking it could go to Comments section from header when workout becomes record. The forecast weather is sufficiently accurate for reviews and if greater accuracy needed it could come from recording device and be user added to Comments or edited. Thanks, Again, amazing work. May fame and riches be yours : )
How about a selection option to select a 1-4 rating, similar to the RPE and Feel scores?
It then shows a summary of data like the current Wellness data.
Then an option to fill in the temperature, wind speed and direction, if important.
I don’t think there is anything like that in the .fit file.
@Gerald I would very much like to do this automatically like some of the Strava apps do. The issue is that I only fetch weather data for an athlete when they go to the calendar page and the weather service I am using charge a huge fee for access to weather history. So when the ride is uploaded I might not have weather info. Need to think about this a bit …
Keep the existing forecast on the calendar and we can keep our own observation in comments if forecast was way off but maybe that doesn’t solve the history service charge. Thinking of this as a quick review as in “why was I so lousy that day” review without drilling down.
I used to use this to get description of weather in activity description, which might provide what you are after.
.
Whats about older activities? Do they loose the information, because of the terms…
- Process up to 90 activities.**
- Weather conditions from the beginning of your activity in your training log automatically.
- Weather emoji from the beginning of your activity in the title automatically.*
- Settings page where you can choose if you want weather conditions and/or emojis added to your activities and can set your weather summary language and units.
- Activities page where you can see a 14-day average of the conditions you’ve been active in.
- Pause activity processing at any time.
Just because the weather says something doesn’t mean the conditions you actually face is exactly the same.
IF airport or weather center in your city says weather is X.
But imagine on that day , you did most of your running in a forest under ample shade. No radiant sunlight. Or you woke up at 4:00 am and finished off the workout within the cool confines of a cycle track winding through the desert.
Just saying…
That’s what my post earlier this year was meant to show; what the actual conditions were rather than a forecast.
Meteostat historical hourly data would be a great add
I didn’t know about that. Tx a stack.
Open-Meteo “Home page | Open-Meteo.com” also as great historical datasets (ERA5 from Copernicus program), but has a 5-7 days delay from current time.
A air quality forecast / history would be also great add .
