Intervals not tracking fitness increase when recording indoor rowing session

Hello,
I am a rower so I use the ergo as way to train almost every day. I am recently new user of intervals but I have just noticed that when I record an ergo session (intervals or long aerobic sessions) there is no fitness increase on my chart. I wear a HR strap and I am assuming intervals can calculate load based on just HR data alone so in theory, my fitness should be going up after one of these sessions. See attached images where it does not increase after an ergo session.
My theory is that my watch is recording ‘pace’ when I do indoor training. The pace is obviously very slow because I am not moving (barely) but the overall training time is long. This might lead Intervals to think that there is no physiological benefit from the session because the pace is so slow despite the HR monitoring. As in, it will prioritise the data from ‘pace’ rather than HR to make adjustments to my fitness chart. Does anyone know how to fix this. Is it a watch issue - do I somehow need to disable GPS tracking when I start the workout? Or is in an Intervals problem. Please let me know if you have any ideas or any further questions about this.
Cheers.

What’s the Activity type when imported in Intervals?

It could be a sports type that is configured to not take load in account

You should disable GPS when doing indoor activities because Pace data will be all over the place while GPS is searching for a signal.
The priority for load calculation can be set per sports category on the settings page, so if you want to use HR, make sure to pick an option with HR first.

Your screenshot shows a Load of 55 and a 42 min session. Is that duration correct? If not, go to Actions at the bottom, then Settings and enable Ignore Velocity to make sure that you have the full activity time counted.

A last thing to check, depending on which Activity type it comes in with, is if eventually the activity has been flagged as ‘Commute’

If all that still isn’t answering your question, show screenshots where we can clearly see the activity type and the full summary at the top.

You did 10x4min rowing? Activity time was 42min, so that seems correct. It shows a Load of 55. 75% intensity looks like it was based on HR.
If it would be based on Pace it would be probably a load of 10-20 or so.

Your Fatigue is at 61 on that day and didn’t decrease. So imo the load was fully calculated in your fitness chart. So everything looks fine? Or do you have any special question, that I didn’t see.

Good point!
A broader view of the fitness chart might reveal that the load over the last couple of weeks was fairly stable, meaning that both Fitness and Fatigue are plateauing.
About the activity time, the Timeline shows approximately 60 minutes and a steady pace (wherever it comes from???).
The problem is that some important info is missing in the randomly cut-out screenshots.
