Intervals connecting with both Garmin Connect & Strava

Hi,
Do I really need Intervals to be pulling data from both GC and Strava considering Strava pulls the data from GC anyway? If I disconnect the feed from Strava will anything be affected?

Also, I just saw “Upload Planned Workouts” in GC which I have selected and it’s shown a whole heap of % not sure what they mean or relate to. Also, Does this mean that my TP workouts (which also migrate to GC) can be uploaded into Intervals as a full structured workout?

Pulling from GC and Strava is what you want to do. Strava strips out things like L/R balance. Intervals will display the Strava segment info on the Garmin activity so you get the best of both worlds.

Currently there isn’t an easy way to get structured workouts from TP into Intervals.icu. You need to download and upload FIT or ZWO files.

Intervals.icu can upload structured workouts to Garmin connect. For workouts with fixed power or HR or pace targets the percentages turn these into ranges on upload.

Thanks.

I have a question on how this works - I read somewhere it is possible to have the data coming from Garmin Connect but the ride names etc coming from Strava (where I edit them). Is that right? Right now it looks like everything is coming from Garmin Connect including the ride names but I can see the segments are coming through from Strava.

I think if it’s new data, names would come from Strava when both Strava and Garmin is connected. (names from Strava would be ‘Preferred’ by intervals)

Not sure about old data (where you use “download old data”)

If I remember correctly, webhooks to collect that data (activity names) from Strava are not available for non-supporters.
It requires an extra API-call.

You need to tick the box in /settings:

Then it should update the Garmin activity name to match. Strava does send a webhook when you edit the name so edits should also come through.

Note that this works for new activities.

Amazing, thanks
