Internal server error when undeleting an activity synced from Garmin Connect

When I try to undelete an activity that is synced from Garmin Connect, I get an internal server error message like the following:

Internal server error, trace a2be8303
Internal server error, trace 5bb9e13f

Undeleting activities from other platforms like Strava works fine.

I do have some custom streams and custom activity fields that were shared by the community that could possibly be causing issues.

Custom streams:

  • Rear Gear
  • Front Gear
  • Garmin Stamina
  • W/Kg
  • Performance Condition
  • Percentage in Z2
  • Rear Gear Index
  • Garmin Potential Stamina
  • Front Gear Index

Custom activity fields:

  • Aerobic Effect (AerobicEffect)
  • Anaerobic Effect (AnaerobicEffect)
  • Power to Speed Ratio (PowertoSpeedRatio)
  • Training Effect (TrainingEffectSelect)
  • VO2 Max (VO2MaxGarmin)
  • VO2 max estimate (VO2max)

Is there any way to check the server traces for any of the trace IDs above to get a better idea what could be causing the error?

I’d like to avoid removing and adding back all the custom streams and activity fields in an attempt to rule that out as a potential cause if it can be avoided.

Typically, this undelete action (w/ Garmin) has issues historically. (It’s not actually an un-delete whereby intervals.icu will request for that activity from GC again, but actually just restoring it from intervals.icu’s “recycle bin - gets purged after x days”)

Your bet bet is to download the orignal workout from GC and manually uploading it here.

Thank you for the insights and the suggestion. I will try manually importing the .fit file in the future if the undelete does not work.

In my case the activity was recorded just a couple hours earlier. So, there might be an issue with the recycle bin on the server. Perhaps the deleted activities are getting purged much sooner than expected or there is some lookup issue that prevents the deleted activity from being found in the recycle bin.
