Hi, i got a new indoor trainer (Tacx Flux Smart) and on the bike i have assioma duo powermeter.
I would like to override the tacx powermeter on my indoor rides, so that i always use the assioma duo for the power, so that my data is consistent.
How can i do this? (I have garmin edge 530)
Thanks
Connect your edge 530 to your pedals and make sure it is not connected to the Flux Smart.
When running workouts from your Garmin, pair the trainer as Smart Trainer and the pedals as power sensor. Garmin will control the trainer and display power from the pedals.
There will however not be a matching procedure and there will be a difference, positive or negative.
If you want the trainer control to match the power from the pedals, use ann app like BreakAway,TrainerDay ,TrainerRoad or similar.

but i already have my assioma duo paired as power sensor, so i shouldnt change anything?
If you have already paired your Assioma make you you have unpaired the Tacx.
I use a similar setup but with a Wahoo Kickr. If you want to get speed and distance as well and to allow your Garmin to control your trainer during workouts run on your Garmin, also pair your Tacx as a Trainer (not power meter)
PS: This question really has nothing to do with Intervals.icu…
In this configuration (Wahoo Kickr), it is better to pair the Assioma Duo directly with the trainer. The trainer takes power from the Assioma, in ERG mode too!
Sorry that does not seem to be the case if monitor both PMs with ANT power meter.
The Assioma reports 2 to 3W higher than the Kickr V4, and I can see from the average readings power is from Assioma, not Kickr.
I am very certain of this as if connect a v5 which reads 15 to 20w higher than the v4 its easy to feel. I am confident power comes from Assioma.
If you have something like RGT cycling, it’s very easy to demonstrate power comes from Assioma - connect your Garmin to the Assioma (circled in red) as the power source, Connect the Trainer as the power source in the app you use (RGT), circled in blue. Then run a workout or ERG session, recording on Garmin and RGT / Zwift etc at the same time, compare files and you can see this quite clearly the Garmin .FIT will report the power from the Assioma, not the trainer because they do not match identically (2 to 3w average and trend difference with a v4 in my case)
I am not sure how I manged to delete this post - can it be restored?
In case of multiple power sources, Garmin always prioritizes “real” power meters.
If you pair the trainer as a controllable, Garmin will send the ERG target as is , without adjusting for differences between trainer and power meter.
I assume by ‘real’ power meters you mean the Favero?
Anyway this should be self explanatory. Power is from Assoima. Power2 is from Wahoo Kickr v4. When they match so closely as mine do, to a large extent the discussion is a moot point as the differences are within the accuracy levels of both meters.
I would always trust the Duo readings as you have two independent metres cross checking each other with extra confidence if the L/R balance is close to 50-50 in the case the trainer and pedals disagree
