Incorrect running power from Garmin import

Hi,

I seem to have a problem with a single running activity recorded on my Garmin.

Garmin Connect shows normal running power data for the activity (average power around 369 W), but after importing into Intervals the activity shows an average power of only 59 W and the power graph becomes almost completely flat.

What makes this strange is that this is the only activity affected. All running activities before this one import correctly and display normal running power data in Intervals.

This activity was a race/event effort, while the surrounding activities sync normally.

I have already:

  • Deleted and re-imported the activity
  • Synced again from Garmin Connect
  • Manually uploaded the original FIT file exported from Garmin Connect

The result is always the same.

I can provide the original FIT file and activity details if needed.

Thanks!

You raced above your FTP setting and that is considered ‘artefact’.
Raise the FTP on that run, and it will be accounted for.
You can update the FTP for that run from the summary at the top when you open the activiy.
Look for FTP with the pencil icon beside it and click on it to change FTP.
You may need to re-analyze from the Actions menu after the change.

Thanks for the quick help!

That was exactly the issue. I never would have thought to check the FTP setting. A warning message for cases like this would be very helpful.

Thanks again!

There is a warning right above the charts in red text…
