In indoor cycling training, real routes are usually ridden in SIM mode (resistance control by gear shift), workouts are often ridden in ERG mode (resistance control by the roller trainer).
New at icTrainer is the HRM mode (aka Arrrgh-Mode)!
With this, you specify your desired target heart rate and we adjust the resistance of your roller trainer accordingly. This can be a really useful and varied feature for consistent training.
Of course, all training results are automatically uploaded to intervals.icu after the workout.
Where is it found in the app?
@justmytwospence You can find the HRM-Mode when you create your own new workout in the editor (or when you download a HRM workout from another platform).
In the following video tutorial Philipp explains the details:
Just try today. But I’m a bit disapointed. First, with a workout created into Intervals, HR doesn’t appear in IcTrainer (-60m 190W power=3s 75% HR). So I modified the workout to add HR target in the workout but it doesn’t work. I hav to create a new specific HRM workout. Perhaps the problem in my workout was there is only one step with HR target (no target for warming and cooldown). @Nicolino, can you confirm that ?
Unfortunately, ictrainer has no way of recognising whether a workout from intervals is a HRM training.
We will be happy to discuss this with @david
Currently, HRM workouts can only be created directly in icTrainer (or imported from TrainingPeaks).
I find a new option. I will tgry this week
Workouts on Intervals.icu can have power, HR and pace targets for each step but you need to choose when performing the workout. You can’t mix them.
@Nicolino What format are you getting the planned workouts from Intervals.icu in? Workout calendar events have a “TARGET” field which is “POWER”, “HR”, “PACE” or “AUTO” (select target based on the “Workouts” setting for the sport in /settings).
I try yesterday with HR target but doesn’t use HR when loaded in IcTrainer.
I have been swapping mails with icTrainer. They will need a bit of time to sort this out.
As of the new icTrainer version 2.2.22, workouts from Intervals.icu can also be synchronized with the “target HR” and then performed as HRM-Workout in icTrainer.
