Issues related to BLE on 530/830/1030+ are being reported in different forums. Sometimes workarounds solve the issues, sometimes they donāt
Youāre not doing anything wrong, youāre misinterpreting the thing. Intervals is not doing anything with the HRV data yet. The DFA and/or EPOC charts come from data that was generated by an IQ app on your head-unit and written to the FIT file in a dev field.
For DFA you need to have the AlphaHRV IQ app on your Garmin. For EPOC, you need to install the EPOC IQ app.
You need the latest version for that. Donāt know if the Google Play version already has it. I always sideload from the GitHub page. Version 220111_1853 has it for sure.
Ah ok thanks,
I can see the HRV data in the file in Runalyse so thought I should get a DFa1a chart in Intervals. I installed the AlphaHRV app on my Garmin 530 and on my FR945LTE so next time I record a session cycling or running I should see the DFA1a chart as that will be embedded in the fit file?
I will install the EPOC IQ app as well.
Can I see the raw HRV data in intervals even though it does no processing?
If you have the IQ apps, they will be displayed. That part is already done in intervals.
At this moment you can only download RR stream with the streams csv button on the activity intervals page.
Post ride analysis/calculation of DFA will come to intervals. Itās on the TODO list.
hahaā¦ yeahā¦ my 5x+ is supposed to be able to pair w/ many diff BT sensors, butā¦ in realityā¦
@MedTechCD could you or possilbly someone else decipher this?
Today i tried a +5w every 3min ramp. So this means that my VT1 (or LTHR or aerobic threshold is at 171bpm?) That seems awfully high. Thats close to 90% of MaxHR.
and for EPOC, what do i do w/ the data? Saw a few youtubes and read some stuffs, but it all just basically says, afterburn effect and supposedly time for body to get back to balance. (but of course, I donāt know how long it actually will be)
Note : BreakAway + H10 + POlar HR Strap - BLE
Hi,
Has someone experienced a huge battery drain while using AlphaHRV? my Polar H10 went from 60% to 20% battery with just two sessions of training (~2h each) using this IQ app
@Inigo_Tolosa @Joao_Samora
Unfortunately, none of the methods helps and I have not found a solution on the Internet. I would reset Garmin but I donāt want to set up all profiles again
see this, maybe it will help youā¦

Iām not an expert at interpreting this but I do see one problem.
You need to exclude the data from the plateaus before and after the dfa ramp to place the regression line. But even then, I think it will still be pretty high, eyeballing rapidly would be something like 160bpm.
The data-plateau at the end is influencing the regression line a lot.
Ask Bruce Rogers for his opinion, but maybe first see if this is reproducible.
Canāt help on EPOC. Never done anything with it, absolutely zero knowledge.
Iāve actually remove the part where I did the warmup and cooldown separately. (hence warmup(1fit file), ramp(1fit file), cooldown(1fit file)) which was what I read in Bruce Rogerās blog.
I started the ramp at 60% of FTP
Hi,
I tried this conf this morning but guess what: Fenix 5 x OHR does not provide HRV to the fileā¦
Tks
Off course not. Optical sensors canāt provide a good enough signal for HRV. I meant exactly what I said just below. You will have a normal/native HR trace and a1 from the app but no HRV data for post-ride analysis.
I though I could double check with Golden Cheetahā¦
Is there a problem if I use two parallel straps on my chest?
I have a Tickr that works on BLE to Garmin and the Viiiiva on ANT+ to alphaā¦
What you think?
Tks.
2 straps is not a problem but you said before that the Tickr isnāt good enough for HRV. So what would be the point?
Iāve read somewhere in here that āapparentlyā it is not that badā¦
Not sure.
