HRV again (Kubios.com)

Kubios (https://www.kubios.com/) have an amazing desktop program to measure HRV. I’ve used it in conjunction with EliteHRV and HRV4T. Now they have a mobile app, I wonder if it would be possible to integrate their ‘standards’ (which seem more based on science than otherwise) into intervals.icu? As an aside, I use a cheap decathlon HRM.

I got this - I have no clue what it means :joy: App is Heart Watch, which works with my Apple watch. You can do Apple Health stuff?

I recently came across the use of DFAalpha1 for determination of aerobic threshold. Have you been using Kubios to determine your aerobic threshold? I had a play with some data from a previous ramp test (although probably too quick a ramp rate to be reliable), but it seemed pretty straight forward, albeit needed a bit of post-analysis in a spreadsheet to get an HR number.

Here’s the article I stumbled across that prompted me to try it out: http://www.muscleoxygentraining.com/2021/01/dfa-a1-and-exercise-intensity-faq.html?m=1

I have seen HRV records in some of the fit files people have been sending me so hopefully some of this can make it into Intervals.icu.

Hmm, can you detail?
Are you talking about this setting?

I have only seen it in files and also see tweets about finding aerobic threshold from HRV data during exercise … “that sounds interesting” is as far as I have got.

Throwing my support behind HRV4Training integration/import as well.

I was using EliteHRV, but it seems they’re having issues w/ both Wahoo Tickr and Polar HR10 HRMs, and you can guess which straps I have…

Regarding HRV, I found a connectIQ app which is very intersting. Here’s the link: Connect IQ Store | Free Watch Faces and Apps | Garmin

It is payed (also it has a free version) but it basically does what HRV4Training does => compute rmssd and other stuff.
Here is a recording that I did yesterday morning:

As you can see, it has a lot of data, including average rMSSD and other stuff.
Would you consider populating the HRV automatically from this type of activity?

This way we could ditch using apps on the phone and just record it with the watch.

As far as I know (limited knowledge) HRV during exercise is not the same as doing a test when you wakeup in the morning so it probably wouldn’t be right to replace the daily wellness number with this?

Yes, you are right. Personally I am using the app. only for morning HRV. And it stores the data as an activity.

Apart of that, enabling the log HRV setting that will record hrv data in the activities. I don’t see the purpose to use this app for recording training sessions and I don’t see others using it for that.

I think HRV4T would be open to share their HRV Data with i.i. they have a lot of other supported platforms: FAQ (at the bottom)

I have also been using this Garmin ConnectIQ app on my Gamrin watch for the last 40 days or so. Testing each morning and using the rMSSD results from that in my wellness data manually each morning. First experience with HRV and i’m starting to notice trends and its context in relation to my other wellness factors. This also records it as an activity - I just tick the boxes in Intervals to not include any of the data in the fitness, HR, load calculations etc.

I use HRV4T app. It will automatically upload to Trainingpeaks and WKO5. I also use EliteHRV, but there you have make a monthly payment for sync with apps like trainingpeaks.
