HR-settings for the different zones

I am a little puzzled by the standard HR-settings:

Running:

Biking:

In both Z5 does not go up to the Max HR, while those are reserved for the the Anaerobic Zones. However, going into the anaerobic zones, the HR does not give as much meaning.

I now I can just change the presets or values to my liking. I am just wondering why this has been chosen as the defaults?

For Garmin the zones for HR is stopping with Zone 5 as the standard.

But please make me more wise. Intervals.icu is both amazing software, but also a place to learn a lot of new stuff which is even more cool :slight_smile:

You can use the same zones as Garmin by selecting the 5 zone preset. There is a multitude of zone systems. And Intervals tries to be as versatile as possible.
