How do zones get set in intervals?

I’ve set my zones calculation to be HR/Pace/Power (mainly because the power on the coros is not the most reliable for trail running)

Yet, Intervals.icu, the intervals seem to favor the power profile to choose which zone they were.

You can set priority rules for Load calculation and Time In Zones. The Workouts priority defines what will be used if you make workouts with different targets.

You need to have your HR zones correctly setup for HR to be used.
If all metrics are available, you will see results for Power, HR and Pace on their respective tabs, but the prioritized one will be used to calculate Load and TIZ for the Fitness chart and Totals page TIZ.

That’s the problem. I have my HR zones set up. And i have set the priorities to HR, Pace, Power

And yet it still seems to favor the power to list the intervals.

Example activity: Intervals.icu

These should not be z2, z3, z2. According to heart heart rate these would be z1. What am I missing?

Ah, not sure if this has ever worked. But the description of the selected field indicates that it should, so I understand what you mean. @david can check if it’s a bug or if it has never been implemented that way.
A workaround for now is to display the HR zones chart.

Hmm. That setting only controls the “time in zones” calculation and Intervals.icu will always use power to find and compute intervals if it is present. For cycling that makes sense but I can see the issue for running. I probably have to add a new similar setting for how intervals are calculated?

Or maybe I could just use the “Time in zones” setting for computing what zone the interval was done in … that might be easier. I don’t that that would cause any issues for anyone? If you want your “time in zones” to use HR instead of power then likely you want your interval zones to reflect the HR zone.

Makes sense to me

Ok. The “Time in zones” setting now controls what is used for the zone for each interval. You need to re-analyze existing activities to get the change (make a small edit to an interval).

IT’S ALIVE!

Thanks, just checked and this is doing exactly what I expected!
