I am continually testing a new feature for my BreakAway App (HR Targeted Training - exclusive to workouts sync’ed from intervals.icu)
It’s actually working quite well in my testing and esp. useful as I get back post injury. (such sadness seeing my PWR capability at that HR )
Anyways, for the below workout, there are 2 intervals (40m Z1 and 40mZ2 HR). After the session is completed and uploaded to intervals.icu. I see the light blue line on the Heart Rate chart.
Q: What does it represent? Ave for that interval?
Initially i tot so, then i saw that it doesn’t line up to my interval. (5m ramp + 40m, the line should have the offset at 45m, but it’s happening at 40m
HR Targeted Training - you set a HR; w/ or w/o a target power; and the app will automatically and continually adapt the power target to the Turbo Trainer such that you get to maintain at the targeted HR for that interval.
That blue line is the target HR from the paired planned workout for the activity. You can use options and the slider to shift the trace relative to the activity to make things line up.
i know and do use the slider, i usually do use it for when i am doing an additional warmup section that was not included originally in the planned workout.
In this case, the planned workout does not include anything different, hence I didn’t think t use that. Is the reason for this cause intervals.icu did’t auto detect the 1st ramp as an interval?
This was today’s workout. I noticed that the 1st ramp interval is, interestingly, detected. Could the reason be that this workout is a HR Target (only) workout vs the prev one was a combination of Power + HR workout? (the 1st and last ramp is power only, the middle 2 interval is a power+hr target)
Re-reviewing the chart from both workout, noticed that
Power + HR workout, the thin line is on both Power + HR chart, (w/ the slider at 0s), the line matches up w/ the planned workout using Power, but not the HR chart.
HR Only workout(below), the thin line is only on the HR chart and lines up perfectly w/ the planned workout.
I think I understand how it works now:
Power + HR workout, intervals.icu will auto detect lap averages (w/ planned workout) using Power
HR only workout, intervals.icu will auto detect lap averages (w/ planned workouts) using HR
Yes Intervals.icu will use power data for intervals detection when available. For a planned workout with power and HR steps either power or HR is used but not both (see “Workouts” in /settings for the sport).
Is it possible to add the possibility of, instead of just having the target HR line, having the HR range defined for training? (similar to what exists in TP)
Thanks
