Hear rate low in training

When I training for exempol in z3 powermeter my hear rate is in z2 why is ?

I have seen the same. I think there are a lot of external factors that influence HR (time of day, sleep, temperature, coffee etc.) as well as HR lag. I have found that starting intervals a bit harder and then easing off kicks my HR into the correct zone more quickly.

The bottom line here is that it’s not unusual to have some discrepancy between heart rate and power zones. It may even be fairly common with both sets of zones fluctuating due to the constantly changing interplay of fitness and fatigue. However, heart rate is most likely to change the least. Power is much more sensitive to training.

En cambio cuando subo la potencia la HR se mete en la zona correspondiente sobre todo en Z3 Y Z4, no así en la Z5 que cuesta entrar.

I wouldn’t focus too much on this ‘zones not matching’. Even if your FTP, which the power zones are derived from, is correct, you still have no hard number on which to base your HR zones. Have you really determined your max HR? And is your resting HR constant, day in, day out? For either zone calculation, FTP or HR, there is just too much margin for error, which also may change on a daily basis…

frecuencia cardiaca maxima 196 en reposo 40 y ftp de 269

Yes, I also have those numbers, we all do.

My point is, that it is highly unlikely that any of them is 100% correct, every day of the week. There are too many factors that influence them any given day.

And besides, when you increase your fitness, you will see that your HR (zones) will shift. Even your supposed / current maximal HR may rise, but most likely you will see that your HR while training at x Watts will go down as you progress.

So, calculating HR zones based on max and resting values, is not that accurate and while there is a correlation with your power zones, it’s not a one-on-one relationship.

You can even determine 5 power zones, but 7 HR zones, matching your (personal) signature more closely.

Muchas gracias por la aclaración ahora si lo tengo claro del todo.
Muy buen foro y muy buenos profesionales en el .

Going to have to internationalise Intervals.icu at some point and do Spanish!
