Hi @david,
At the moment I see errors for planned activities that are not structured:
Hi,
Same here, with cycling activites
It works for me when there are steps included, compared to when there is just a load value and duration.
That error is coming from Garmin Connect. So if it worked before they must have changed something. I suppose the easiest workaround is just to add a step.
That’s not an ideal solution because it requires to explain to every athlete what to do with that filler step. Many of them rely on the watch to know what to do. It would be great to restore the old behavior
I could include a “dummy” step automatically. Do you just include general instructions in the first paragraph of the workout and not rely on the watch to run it?
That would work David. Quite often I plan my runners RPE sessions without any specific workout data; so they just check the plan and run a manual session on the watch.
Even better, could an RPE metric be included in the workout builder?
Empty workouts uploaded to Garmin Connect now get a single OPEN step. Which means you can do what you like and click the lap button to end the workout.
Yes, previously athletes could open the watch to see the title of the workout (e.g. 1hr easy
) or see the whole workout on the phone (e.g. the details of the swim drills that do not fit into a structured workout).
I just synced a workout containing a dummy step and some text details. I can see only the title and the dummy step on the watch. Then if there are other instructions, it would make sense to have the following dummy step: - 1s see workout details
