Hi there. I received an email saying my Forerunner 945 LTE had updated and now suported wrist based run power. I have long feared Garmin would do this to me and it would screw up my Stryd pod data. I have turned the feature off on the watch but it must still be recording the data at that is showing up in intervals.icu and not the Stryd data.
The Stryd data is being plotted on the graph correctly in Trainingpeaks but it is showing up incorrectly in the Power section. That is showing the same as intervals.icu.
Let me know if this is a bug or I just need to tweak a setting!
You can go to Actions → Settings for one of your runs with both power sources and change it there. Its not very user friendly yet “Power” vs “power” but does work. Future runs will use the selected source.

Basically the simple reason is basically developers are free to name them whatever they want since there’s no standard. Hence these confusions comes around.
On The Garmin connect website, these CIQ fields gets a mapping so it’s less confusing to users as to what is what,
Check Your Garmin Connect Web for the activity. Look at the Garmin Connect IQ charts. The Tutle of the chart would likely give you a clue… (I hope - cos again developers are free to name it whatever that like).
I suspect the only possible way to determine for sure is to look at the FIT file specifically and look at the naming. Garmin CIQ fields are written as Developer Fields. I think Garmin Power is using native.
Have you found the garmin power useful? I have recently bought a new watch with Garmin power but I have disabled it as I use the Stryd footpod also and have done so for a few years. This way it doesn’t interfere.
