Garmin Health Snapshot HRV

After reading Marco Altini’s posts I’ve begun taking a manual HRV measurement first thing in the morning after sitting up. With the plots currently available it seems to do fine with plotting overnight HRV recorded by the garmin but I can’t seem to find a way to differentiate between overnight HRV and the manual snapshots.

The already present chart from David does a great job of plotting the overnight HRV and seeing trends - I’d love this exact chart to be plotted but from the manual measurements without loosing access to the overnight ones.

I saw a previous announcement that Health Snapshots were supported, but in plotting HRV it seems to only be overnight HRV. Not sure if it’s a bug or a feature I’m after so apologies if this is the wrong forum

Edit: Wellness data is enabled in my account settings sync with Garmin but the snapshots do not appear in the activity history. I can also see from todays sync that the HRV intervals.icu has copied over is the healthsnapshot, rather than the overnight HRV. I wonder if it’s a Garmin API bug where they don’t differentiate between snapshots and overnight.

I did some digging in the code to remember how this works. If you have a custom wellness field with code “HrvSnapshotRmssd” then the Garmin snapshot HRV goes in there and not in the standard “hrv” field. That still get the overnight (dailies) value.

You do have the custom wellness field setup so you need to make a copy of the standard HRV chart and change it to plot HrvSnapshotRmssd instead of “hrv”.

I just had a look at your fitness charts and it seems you figured this out.

Yep I eventually figured it out. Always impressed by intervals.icu - wanted to replicate what Altini was doing with Coros on my Garmin and intervals gives me the tools!
