I recently got a new Fenix that supports the "Backcountry Ski’ activity, and I noticed that intervals.icu is converting them to “Alpine Ski” instead. Only Garmin Connect is pushing data to intervals.icu.
FWIW - Strava has the correct activity type for the same activity.

A similar thing happened to me yesterday. I did a ski mountaineering activity, and it was classified as cross-country skiing, there is a big difference, cross-country skiing is on the flat while ski mountaineering is practically all uphill. The activity image is also displayed as a downhill ski. Obviously it is nothing essential, as I am interested in the daily and weekly TSS. However, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to add a “SkiAlp” activity and change the image with a little man on a climb.
That one has sport= alpine_skiing sub_sport= backcountry in the fit file so I can’t really make it anything other than BackcountrySki?
What you can select in Interlavs are: Alpine skiing (downhill), cross-country skiing, Nordic skiing. The problem is that cross-country skiing and Nordic skiing are the same thing. If you have time, I would be grateful if you added “Backcountry Ski” or “SkiAlp” (which is an abbreviation); unlike Nordic skiing, it is uphill in the mountains and not in the plains. Thank you.
Hi, I have the simmilar problem. All my nordic ski activities are uploaded as backcountry ski activities, so I have to change them manually.
Also, is there an option to edit multiple files at once, so I wouldn’t have to change every single activity separately?

I had a look at a couple of your activities (e.g. Intervals.icu) and the fit file says sport cross_country_skiing and sub_sport skate_skiing so I can’t do anything automatic to change those to nordic ski.
I added activity type to the bulk edit dialog on the activity list view. You can use that to fix the old activities in bulk.
