Garmin Connect Plus v Intervals.icu

Hi,
Recently subscribed the free trial on Garmin’s new reporting features (Garmin Connect +) with a view of a monthly subscription if it was any good. On first glance I can’t see the reporting being any different to what Intervals.icu already reports and in fact I reckon the reporting power of Intervals.icu is way better and more superior than what Garmin is offering. I will test it out over the next 30 days free trial but unless something “blows me away” that Intervals.icu doesn’t already provide I doubt I will fully subscribe. Anyone else signed up and would love to know your thoughts if GC+ provides anything that other platforms don’t.

A rather mixed review from dcrainmaker too…

I signed up for the trial and I’ve cancelled it already. There’s nothing that’s a must have feature.

I don’t get what Garmin is doing - they’re doubling down on their flaws.

Garmin’s metrics are device-calculated and activities can not be edited, cropped, or reprocessed.

Got a run with a false HR due to cadence lock? Too bad, your Training Load is borked, your modeled VO2max is now borked and that means Training Status is borked.

Got a run with bogus elevations because your Fenix is doing what Fenix do and the barometer is dying? Too bad, your running power is borked and all downstream metrics are borked.

Until Garmin lets one at least cull bad data (we’ll not waste our time dreaming of editing or reprocessing), their metrics are too easily damaged to use, much less deserve paying for.

Here are three screenshots, taken during today, after activating the trial:

Edit: I have >3000 files in Garmin, so how much more data does it need?
