I am looking for a free app that can save both bike power and heart rate.
I am going to use intervals.icu for teaching a bunch of students interested in test & training.
We are using Polar H10 as the HR monitor, but the Polar Beat App on the phone can only record heart rate.
We are riding indoor bikes with watt (Body Bike Smart+), but the Body Bike app cannot send out the fit-file easily.
The plan is that the students will record all of their activity (like soccer, running and other stuff) on Polar Beat every time so it can synchronize with Intervals.icu, but there might be an equally good alternative phone app that can also record the watt from biking or other external power sources.
I used to use cyclometer for a couple years, when I thought that my iPhone 4S would be the perfect cycle computer since I didn’t have cash to get a real headunit.
It does the job and I paid for elite couple years too. Can’t remember what is the ELITE extra perks vs the free ones tho.
Have you tried the Wahoo App? I know it can control Trainer and have the ability to export to Dropbox (not sure what format).
Strava App also does HR (but not power)
Edit: Did you check out the Intervals.icu settings page? Quite a few apps listed there that has direct integration with intervals
Also there’s https://flux-web.vercel.app which I’m not sure usable on a phone. but a Desktop definitely.
Thanks for your suggestions. Reason I need it free is because usually I will ask the students to use the app a couple of times. It would be very nice with a cross platform, but maybe I should just aim for MyWhoosh or something similar, where I can get Power and HR and I would think export the fit file…
The Wahoo Fitness app is a full functional app on a mobile phone. It works with external power meter, heart rate sensor, cadence sensor, etc. It’s worth to have a try.
You are welcome to use my app called Cykelstrom. It will record HR, Power and much much more in an easy to download .csv file. You can check it out here: https://cykelstrom.com
It is also compatible and approved by Strava and will also record a .gpx file.
Cykelstrom does not collect any personally identifiable information and has no ads or in-app purchases.
I am able to customize it if you have a specific need. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.
Here are some options for free apps that can record both bike power and heart rate on your phone, compatible with Polar H10 and potentially Body Bike Smart+:
1. HR2VP Cycling & Bike Training:
This app estimates power based on heart rate, allowing you to track power during indoor rides without a power meter.
It connects to the Polar H10 for heart rate data.
You can use it as a standalone app or pair it with your Body Bike (compatibility needs verification).
It records rides with GPS and uploads data to Strava (potentially Intervals.icu with additional steps).
Isolese. Take a look to a free Android app I´m developing; MyBikeManager. It can track your route, HR from a strip band and watios from a powermeter. Also, it can upload your track to Intervals.icu
I have published a Beta application at Play Store and working for a new version with autoregister.
I installed the application, but I can’t run it, it asks for username and password, which I enter below doesn’t connect or exit, that is, it doesn’t do anything.
