Filter general fitness chart by sport

Hi,

maybe I missed it but I didn’t find a way to filter the default global fitness charts by sport.

I can recreate each of them with filters on it, which is very good, but I loose the nice colors. Also additional form chart cannot be set as percentage (or maybe I missed that).

Regards

Julien

That chart is plotted from pre-computed running totals stored on each activity. This makes it possible to get fitness and fatigue very quickly just by looking at a single activity. The disadvantage is that I can’t filter that by sport.

To compute fitness in particular you need to start at the oldest activity and work forward. The custom plots go back 84 days before the oldest date on the chart when “fitness average” (42d exponentially weighted avg) is in use. This actually produces fitness numbers that are 1 or 2 under. The pre-computed totals look at your whole history so don’t have that problem.

Anyway the moral of this long story is that it isn’t easy for me to add filtering to the main chart. However I will probably add separate running totals for swim/bike/run at some point.

I will add a new “Form %” plot. Missed that.

Oh good, thank you very much for the detailed answer.

Indeed, by playing a little bit with custom chart I saw this little difference but couldn’t understand the reason. Thank you for explaining that too.

Hello! Just wanted to follow up to see if it’s still on the roadmap to add separate fitness calculations for swim/bike/run at some point in the near future. Thanks so much!

You can do it using custom plots:

Thanks David. One other question—I use a Vasa SwimErgometer (with TrainerRoad workouts) for swim bench workouts—any way to separate those activities from my TR bike activities for analysis purposes?

Wow first time I have heard of that. The data from Strava looks very weird. Strava thinks it is a ride done at very lower power but 60 km/h.

Support for power for non-rides (running etc.) is on the todo list. Until that is done you should edit the type of the activity (click the “Bike” icon top left) and change it to “Swim” + click the cog icon (bottom right) and tick the “Ignore power” box.

Ok thanks. There are about 30 of us in a Vasa team on TR–we’ve created TR workouts to be used for the Vasa Erg machine–it’s pretty cool!

Thanks for your assistance!
