External Projects Confusing Names

It’s really none of my business and I do know that icu isn’t a trademark or anything like that, but AFAIK, majority of businesses would rather not have their chosen name to be mistaken (directly/indirectly) to be used for another business.

Do consider changing the (your) project’s name such that it doesn’t appear directly/indirectly as being either an official intervals.icu app / endorsed by it.

It has become super easy to use AI to build apps, and the AI will even come up with a name for you on its own. The name might sound great at first, but it hasn’t done any deep thinking about whether it could be confused with another app or imply an official connection that doesn’t exist. I’d guess most people are just running with the first name the AI spits out, which is how you end up with multiple apps sharing basically the same name or stepping on each other’s toes.

Probably this post is for me
I really appreciate for your concern.

I actually cleared the name ‘ICU’ with David before I started development back in late 2025, and he gave me the green light. I’ve made sure to keep him updated on the progress ever since to ensure everything stays transparent.

However, to avoid any potential confusion for new users, I will be adding a clear disclaimer to the App Store and Google Play descriptions stating: ‘ICU is an independent app and is not officially affiliated with Intervals.icu’.

My goal has been to create a helpful companion tool for the community. I want to make sure the distinction is clear. Thanks again for the heads-up.

Nope. It’s not for you (only)

Pfew, I’m safe with LeCoach.app

ps. had numerous people messaging me already that they wanted to delete their account, only to find out they wanted to delete their account for another service so yes fully agree a lot these intervals based coaching initiatives sound the same. I think it will all filter out eventually.
