Export to strava

I don’t know if you already have on your to-do list  I think exporting to strava would be an interesting option, to add filtering to export only selected trainings.
I wonder if the bylink on stravia worked then, show segments, edit activity titles, etc.

I have added that to the list. It is possible to specify the name, description etc. on upload. It will be possible to combine Strava data with data already on Intervals.icu for some things but others might be tricky. The power etc traces might not match up if you are using Strava privacy zone etc…

Also exporting the original .fit file is easy. Generating one from changes made on Intervals.icu is a bit harder.

Hi David, just here to see if there’s an update on this one. I might try the Strava…again :smirk:

Not yet but it is bubbling up.

Hi David,

Sorry to bump an old thread. New user here- I wanted to check if this is a current feature of Intervals.icu. I did some digging but was unable to find anything on it.

I’ve seen that there is a setting to “Keep non-Strava activities in sync with Strava”, but I’m not sure if this is an automatic sync or how to trigger this.

Essentially- I’m using HealthFit to capture my workouts from my Apple Watch and sync to Strava.

I’d like to be able to capture the elevation gain from my GymKit treadmill on Strava, but feeding from Apple Fitness to Strava does not reflect this elevation in Strava, nor is it captured when feeding from HealthFit to Strava.

So I’m hoping I may be able to capture that elevation data in Strava via Intervals.icu, which I believe I may be able to accomplish via automatic sync of activities following:

Apple Fitness → HealthFit → Intervals.icu → Strava

Thanks so much for any help!

There is no Intervals-> Strava feature. At least not for what you want. It does not send the FIT file there. But you can manually upload the FIT file from intervals to Strava.

If healthfit is logging the elevation? Is it in the FIT file? is it an indoor treadmill run? Does it have GPS data? I believe that Strava will ignore elevation if there is no GPS data. Even if there’s gps data it may be dependent on some settings/feature that is within the fit file for Strava to take elevation

But you

Hi Nik,

Thanks so much for your response.

Not intending to hijack this thread, so happy to make a separate post if needed.

HealthFit does show the elevation after an indoor treadmill walk and/or run, yes. (as does intervals.icu when pushed from HealthFit). I see it recorded in the FIT file as “total ascent(m)”.

I’ve also reached out to the HealthFit developer who has told me that it is something to do with Strava- as you indicated.

But I have also tested the qdomyos-zwift app to connect to the treadmill and log a run/walk and have been able to see the elevation on the Strava activity afterwards.

The problem is that I’d much rather not have to run that app on my phone and watch when it seems like there must be some straightforward way to make this happen if qdomyos-zwift is able to do it, I can’t help but imagine HealthFit can somehow do it as well. I was hoping intervals.icu → Strava might provide an automated solution.

It looks like the rest of your message may have cut off, I would greatly appreciate any insight you have.

Thanks so much!

But you can try using the intervals fit file and uploading it directly to Strava and see if it makes a diff.

My guess is no.

(The above was what I wanted to say)

I’m also looking for a solution to this.
My workflow is: record activity with Garmin device, sync it to intervals.icu, sync fron intervals to Strava. The last bit isn’t working though.
I wanted to go this route to have more details about the activity uploaded to Strava (like the title), and was expecting the intervals premium subscription to solve this.

Post edited because initially it was written in a confusing way. Thx @Nik_Om_Cinderella_Ri

Have Garmin send your activity to Strava and configure Intervals to get your activities from both Garmin and Strava.
Intervals will handle the dups by using the Garmin FIT data and Strava naming through webhooks.
You can´t upload from Intervals to Strava.

Let’s clarify.

If you ONLY want the title and desc sync to Strava. Yes. You can do that. (Go to settings. Check the box marked as keep Strava title or something in sync)

If you want intervals to upload the completed ride to Strava. This is not available.

Thanks for the replies, I have tried that route too, where Garmin synced both to intervals and Strava, but despite checking that option in the settings, the title in Strava remained the generic “Morning ride”.
Let me give it another shot and I’ll report back.

Do you have these on the top right of the activity? This shows the actiity has been linked to both of these sources.

I do, and it indeed propagates to Strava when I change the activity’s title in intervals. I had the impression the sync will happen also retroactively, but it all seems to work fine for new activities and changes do afterwards.
