Exclude power of an activity

Hi, I’m pretty new to intervals and most say I really love it!
Today I had the issue that the battery of my power meter died after a couple of mins and my activity has now power data only for the first 15 mins. I’ve manually set the data to 0 hoping that this would solve the issue that only the heart rate is used to calculate zone etc - but that doesn’t seem to work - I do get a null in the zones. Is there a way to ignore any power data for an activity or delete power data like it would have been a ride without power meter at all and just heart rate?

Thanks a lot for helping out

Michael

Tx. You can click the “cog” icon under the ride timeline chart and tick the “Ignore power” box.

Tx David for quick response - if I do this it doesn’t calculate load etc based on HR data and the zones and intervalls above the timeline show “Z null%”. If I compare with a ride without any HR data it all calculates correctly there …

If you click “Analyse” those dodgy intervals will go. I already did that on your activity.

I have just changed things so HR data is used to calculate training load for activities with power that have “ignore power” ticked. Will deploy Friday AM (GMT+2). Tx for that.

Thanks David!

I actually had the same thing happen to me today, started a ride and then power meter died. I would like to remove power from the ride so that interval icu can calculate fitness and zones based on heart alone. Thanks for your help.

On the activity go
Actions > Settings > Ignore power data

Thanks for the response. I followed the instructions provided and there is a annotation to ignore power that appears, but the data is still unchanged. Any other thoughts? I provided a screen shot as well. Thank you.

i beleive you have to also do actions → reprocess

Ignore Power will not change anything on the RAW data, it will not rmeove the Power trace. It will only instruct Intervals calculations to not use Power for Load/TimeInZones.
The next option that you specified in Settings for that sport will be used to calculate Load and Time In Zones.

There’s an option in Action to Reanalyze which I have done. No changes though.

Here’s screen shot of my settings page. Is this what you meant? I didn’t make any changes here.

Exactly, Intervals is instructed to not use Power for the calculations and will use HR.
On your activity page, click on Load to check the different values.

On top you should now have the Load calculated from HR.

Should I manually edit the Power Load to match the Heart Rate Load? I’m trying to get my Fitness number to reflect the ride, which it isn’t currently doing.

The Fitness chart should use the load number at the top.

To exclude various data types (power, HR, etc), click open the activity, then at the very bottom:

Actions → Settings → Ignore <type> data

Is there a way to do an exclusion of power data from a group of activities?

Specifically, before say September 1st 2020 as the life time power line is too high due to the Virtual Power used up until that point.

Go to the list view on the activity page.
Filter on the date range you want.
Click on the pencil icon
Update settings
Ignore power
Remember to tick/select the activities
